My Story

It all started with a scribble

In a little island called Puerto Rico.

Humble beginnings

While in my room, looking at magazines filled with fictional monsters I became interested and drew frankenstein and a dragon. The expressive process was delightful and soon I started drawing more things. Took the drawings to school and some friends became interested, we all started to draw together for one or two years. Afterwards I became interested in soccer and skateboarding halted my creativity.

College Years

While studying at the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras campus I was constantly meeting people and pursuing a purpose. Surrounded by people, I felt alone. Still not drawing…

Art with a social impact

December 2016 I visited a good friend and he showed me the drawings of his older brother, quite remarkable works of a very talented person with a future in front of him. After seeing all of the works I asked for his most recent artworks and my friend told me that his brother does not draw any more, he suddenly stopped without explanation… Never to express again.

My mind could not comprehend how someone with so much talent could just give up like that. Just thinking deeply about this and a fire within me was born. At this point I made a commitment to never stop expressing and show the world that if you are human an artist lies sleeping within all of us. At this exact moment I started drawing and have been drawing almost daily for about 8 years.

After a series of events I reunited many artists and started an artist collective, organized venues and art shows giving artists of all walks of life an opportunity to showcase whatever expressive energy they´d carry within. All while bringing art to marginated places that needed colorful nights. I did it all from the grace of my heart without charging a dime. Eventually I felt burnt out of all the hard work and stopped doing such gatherings. Had the inner urge to first focus on myself as an artist, grow, make money and then help others. At some point I´ll retake this project but for now I need to align my planets.

Creative powerhouse

Two of my most intense years, creative wise, drew multiple times every single day. I woke up drawing, in whatever time during the day drew and before bed into the late night drew till my eyes couldn't stay open. Surrounded myself with people that had the same mentality, drew with them and without them, took my time to learn the human body and worked full time drawing portraits at Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. On an average day I'd draw over ten drawings plus paint in order to practice handling a brush. Had the opportunity to work as an muralist assistant and took art classes at the University of Puerto Rico. Also actively participated at a non profit that had naked models for artists to draw live.

At this point I decided that the art path was for me and tried to enroll in the college for artists at Old San Juan. Attempted to enroll 3 times and was rejected all 3 times for various reasons. All of these rejections took a toll on me but eventually I had the strength to transmute that energy into inspiration, determined to show the institution that I don’t need the classroom to succeed. By sheer force and willpower I will achieve my dreams.

Van Life

After the covid lockdown started to ease I bought a van and converted it to a house with a bed, kitchen and all other amenities. My journey started in Virginia, went up north to New York and from there started to drive my way to California. Throughout this trip I met countless people, drew countless artworks and gifted many more. Some individuals bought 1 to many pieces and learned lifelong lessons.

This trip through the United States was eye opening and it gave me the courage to truly pursue my dream with every single drop of strength within me. After two years of traveling many states I came back to my home base at Virginia and tried to settle down working at an office job that was slowly driving me crazy.

Washington DC

While working on that office job:

I had the opportunity to work for a Non-profit that handled social issues all across  south america, central and the caribbean. As a professional in the technology industry I assisted them on daily operations. With them I had the opportunity to travel to Central America, and one small province in Brazil.

While embarking on these work related travel my art and skateboard was always by my side. Skateboarding around these places I managed to spread my drawings and some paintings through Central America.

Florida

After feeling fed up with the office job, I relocated to Florida and started to work from home. Currently the work I have has a very small workload and it gives me the flexibility to draw & paint while on standby for my job duties. Florida has family members and a big hispanic community that makes me feel close to Puerto Rico, here I’m laying low in order to focus on my growth as an artist. Drawing everyday fills my soul all while listening to music I get lost in the heat of inspiration. In my home I have a studio filled with colors, and artworks. Slowly but surely I’m growing my inventory.

Life Goals

Become a full time artist

Slowly drawing every day and spreading colors throughout the world, and I’ll achieve my goal.

Travel the world

Not just travel the world as an artist, take the art and show it to the people in order to show them that they are also capable of making a positive impact with colors and creativity.

Fight poverty with art

The art scene is over priced and over hyped. If well established artists all around the world dedicated all proceeds from a single work of art to charity it would make a bigger impact than most government efforts.

All I need:

1

Place to sleep

I don't care if the roof is made out of leaves or hay. If it's a roof I'm grateful.

2

Sketchbook with a pen

My mind runs and needs to be flushed. Like taking a poop, I got to flush it onto the sketchbook.

3

Surfboard & Skateboard

My soul sports. I will die riding, be it on concrete or water.

4

Food & Hydration

Humanity 101 can't escape this.
