When we were little, adults taught us the existence of "mistakes". Social constructs that only discourage and deny expression. Ink, markers, and paint are my preferred medium, because erasers don’t exist for them. As I draw, I do not think of the hours invested or how others will perceive my work. Instead my drive revolves around the satisfaction I receive from the artistic expression as is.
Color theory?
Ummm...
Does it look good?
- Mix it.
Society is deprived of art. You could change someone’s life just by gifting a scribble. Most humans haven’t been able to explore their artistic identity. As artists, we have a responsibility to ‘spread the love'. Whenever someone compliments your scribble, and you feel it, give it away. Spread the art seed.
Ignite your inner understanding, propel your imagination to its outer limits. Blow a fuse. Push the boundaries of your artistic ‘comfort zone’ in order to develop yourself.
In the mist of the pandemic, most of us were sitting it out socially distanced. The only person that dared say “Hi" to me instantly became a new friend. This human vibed with my passion in a musical way. Everyday I drew and he rapped. This tiger represents what I see within him. @RossPorter_
This is my inner self trying to blend in with corporate culture. Gray cubicles, weird awkward coworker relationships and dressing all fancy has scared the existence out of my body. This above all has made me pursue the digital nomad lifestyle I now enjoy. This is a self portrait that expresses how I'm trying to blend in with the world. Rolling with funny hair and weird clothes that always stand out.
Months ago I almost wound up homeless. My dad somehow got the news and took the first overnight flight to where I was. Without telling me, he appeared by surprise and I ended up plummeting onto the floor in tears and I drew him. Thanks to my creator and savior.
On a scale of 1 to banana, how desperate are you? I’m pretty desperate, but luckily doing something about it. Need to make this artwork now. Started from the bottom… We’re still at the bottom. Hahaha not for long!
